Bulk Actions on Jobs

Instead of opening jobs one at a time, bulk actions let you reassign, retag, export, or invoice a whole set of jobs in a single step. This is especially useful for holiday cover, end-of-month invoicing runs, and reporting exports.

1

Select jobs from the list

On the Jobs page, tick the checkbox to the left of each job you want to include. A bulk action toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen as soon as one job is selected.

  • Tick the header checkbox to select all jobs on the current page (up to 25 at a time)
  • Use "Select all matching jobs" to include every job that matches your active filters — even across multiple pages
  • Bulk operations are capped at 100 jobs per action to keep processing fast
2

Available bulk actions

Once jobs are selected, click Bulk actions to see the full menu:

Assign engineer

Reassign all selected jobs to a different engineer — ideal for holiday cover or when an engineer leaves.

Change status

Move all selected jobs to a new status (e.g. mark a batch of same-day completions as Completed in one click).

Add tag

Apply one or more tags to all selected jobs without removing existing tags.

Batch invoice

Generate invoices for all selected completed jobs — reviewed in a single summary screen before sending.

Export to CSV

Download a spreadsheet of selected jobs with all fields — useful for accountant or client reporting.

Delete

Permanently remove all selected jobs (requires confirmation — see step 4).

3

Bulk reassign for holiday cover

When an engineer is off sick or on holiday, filter the job list by their name and any future date range. Select all matching jobs, then choose Assign engineerand pick the cover engineer. All jobs move instantly and the newly assigned engineer receives a notification in their mobile app.

If jobs have customer-booked time slots, Trade2Base will flag any scheduling conflicts before confirming the reassignment.

4

Confirmation for destructive actions

Before any irreversible bulk action (delete or status change) is applied, Trade2Base shows a confirmation modal listing how many jobs will be affected and what will change. You must type CONFIRM for bulk deletes to prevent accidental data loss.

Deleted jobs cannot be recovered. If you need to remove jobs from a view without losing data, change their status to Cancelled instead of deleting.

5

Bulk export for reporting

Use filters to scope your export — for example, all completed jobs in the last quarter tagged “Commercial.” Select all matching jobs and choose Export to CSV. The downloaded file includes job number, customer name, address, engineer, status, tags, value, and invoice status.

This is the fastest way to share a period's job data with your accountant or prepare evidence for a client framework contract.

Tip: batch invoicing at the end of the month

Filter to all Completed jobs with no invoice, select all, and choose Batch invoice. Trade2Base groups them by customer and lets you review each invoice before sending — cutting invoicing time from hours to minutes.
