Linking a Job to a Quote and Invoice
Trade2Base keeps quotes, jobs and invoices connected so you can follow the full journey from enquiry to payment in one place.
How job linking works
When you convert a quote to a job using the Convert to job button, Trade2Base automatically creates the link. The job record shows the originating quote number, and the quote shows the linked job status. You never have to manually cross-reference them.
Similarly, when you create an invoice from a job using Create invoice inside the job detail view, the invoice is automatically linked to both the job and the original quote.
Manually linking an existing job to a quote
If you created a job separately from a quote and want to link them:
- Open the job detail page.
- Scroll to the Linked records section.
- Click Link quote and search for the quote by number or customer name.
- Select the quote — the link is saved immediately.
Viewing linked records
On any job, quote or invoice, the Linked records panel shows all connected documents. Click any linked item to jump straight to it. This makes it easy to check quote approval status, job progress or invoice payment state without leaving the record you're on.

Job-to-quote links power your conversion reports. Trade2Base can show you what percentage of quotes are converting to jobs, which customers accept quotes quickly, and where jobs are being created without a formal quote stage. These insights help you tighten your quoting process over time.
