Using job priority flags

Set priority levels on jobs to make sure urgent work rises to the top of your engineers' schedules and never gets missed.

How to set a priority flag on a job

  1. 1Open any job in Trade2Base and click the Priority flag icon next to the job title.
  2. 2Select a priority level: Low, Normal, High or Urgent — each displays a coloured flag on the job card in the schedule and job list views.
  3. 3For Urgent jobs, Trade2Base automatically moves them to the top of the engineer's daily schedule and sends them a push notification.
  4. 4Filter your Jobs list by priority level to see all High or Urgent jobs at a glance — use this during busy periods to ensure critical jobs are not delayed.
  5. 5Priority flags are visible to engineers in the mobile app — they see flagged jobs highlighted in their schedule and can update the priority themselves if their access level allows.
Emergency call-outs

For emergency call-out jobs, set the priority to Urgent immediately on creation. This ensures the job appears at the top of the available engineer's schedule and triggers an immediate notification to their mobile.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a default priority for new jobs?

Yes. Go to Settings > Jobs > Defaults and choose the default priority level that applies to all newly created jobs. You can still override this on any individual job.

Can I filter the schedule calendar by priority?

Yes. In the schedule calendar, use the filter panel on the right-hand side to show only jobs of a specific priority level. High and Urgent jobs are also highlighted with a coloured border in calendar view.

Do customers see job priority levels?

No. Priority flags are internal only and are never shown to customers in the customer portal or on any customer-facing documents.

Can priority levels trigger automations?

Yes. In the Automations builder, you can use “Job priority changes to Urgent” as a trigger to send a notification, assign an engineer, or update a job stage automatically.
