Sending a Customer Portal Link from a Job

Every job in Trade2Base has a customer portal where your customer can track progress, view quotes, approve work and pay invoices — all without creating an account.

Generating the portal link

  1. Open the job you want to share.
  2. Click the Customer portal button in the job header (or find it in the Actions menu on mobile).
  3. Trade2Base generates a unique, secure link for this job. The link is valid for the lifetime of the job.
  4. Click Copy link to copy it to your clipboard.

Sending the link to your customer

You can send the portal link however you normally communicate with your customer:

  • WhatsApp — paste the link into your WhatsApp conversation with the customer.
  • SMS / text — paste it into any SMS from your phone.
  • Email — use Trade2Base's built-in email to send the portal link directly (tap Send via email and confirm the customer's email address).

What your customer sees

When the customer opens the link, they see a clean portal page with:

  • Job status timeline (Enquiry → Quoted → Scheduled → In progress → Complete)
  • Any quotes linked to the job — they can approve or decline directly from the portal
  • Invoices — with a Pay now button powered by Stripe
  • A message thread to communicate with you

No login is required. The link itself acts as authentication.

Resending or refreshing the link

The portal link for a job is always the same — you can send it again at any point and the customer will see the latest information. If you want to revoke a link (for example if a customer relationship ended badly), contact support and we can deactivate it.

Best practice

Send the portal link as soon as you create the job. Customers who can see their job status in real time ask fewer "where are you?" questions and are more likely to pay promptly.
