Connect Facebook & Instagram Ads to Trade2Base

Connecting Meta Ads Manager to Trade2Base closes the loop between your Facebook and Instagram advertising spend and the jobs those ads actually generate. You'll see which campaigns produce real booked work, not just clicks, so you can cut wasted ad spend and double down on what works.

What you'll need

A Meta Business Account

Your Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns must be running through Meta Business Manager at business.facebook.com. Personal ad accounts are not supported.

Admin access to your Ad Account

You need to be an Admin on the Meta Ad Account you want to connect. Ask your agency or whoever manages your ads to grant you access if needed.

A Meta Pixel (or Events API)

The Meta Pixel tracks actions on your Trade2Base customer portal. If you don't have one yet, Trade2Base will help you create one during setup.

Connecting Meta Ads Manager

1
Open Trade2Base Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Meta Ads card. Click "Connect".

2
Authorise with Facebook

You'll be taken to a Meta authorisation screen. Log in with the Facebook account that has Admin access to your Business Account and Ad Account.

3
Select your Business and Ad Account

If you have multiple Meta Business Accounts or Ad Accounts, select the ones you want to link to Trade2Base. You can connect more than one Ad Account.

4
Grant required permissions

Trade2Base requests read access to your campaign performance data and the ability to create and manage Lead Forms. These are needed for attribution and lead capture.

5
Confirm connection

Click "Connect" on the final screen. You'll be returned to Trade2Base with a green "Connected" status. Campaign data will begin syncing within a few minutes.

Setting up the Meta Pixel

The Meta Pixel fires events on your customer-facing Trade2Base portal — things like quote views, portal sign-ins, and payments. These events feed back into Meta so it can optimise your ads for people most likely to become paying customers.

1
Create or select your Pixel

During the Meta connection flow, Trade2Base will ask you to select an existing Pixel from your Business Account, or create a new one. We recommend creating a dedicated Pixel named "Trade2Base".

2
Pixel fires automatically

Once selected, Trade2Base automatically adds the Pixel to your customer portal. No code changes are needed. Events for portal page views, quote accepts, and payments fire out of the box.

3
Verify in Events Manager

In Meta Business Manager, go to Events Manager and select your Pixel. You should see events appearing within 30 minutes of a customer visiting your portal. Use the Test Events tool to confirm.

Creating lead forms for Facebook & Instagram

Meta Lead Forms let potential customers submit a job enquiry directly inside Facebook or Instagram, without leaving the app. Trade2Base pulls these leads in automatically and creates a new customer record and enquiry.

Build a form in Trade2Base

Go to Campaigns → Lead Forms → New Form. Choose the fields you want: name, phone, email, job type, postcode. Trade2Base pushes the form to your connected Meta Ad Account.

Use the form in a campaign

In Meta Ads Manager, create a Lead Generation campaign and select your Trade2Base-created form as the lead form. When someone submits the form, the lead appears in Trade2Base within seconds.

Automatic follow-up

Trade2Base can automatically send a WhatsApp or SMS acknowledgement to every new Meta lead. Set this up in Automations → New Lead Received.

Tracking which ads generate booked jobs

Attribution in Trade2Base connects your Meta campaign spend to real revenue outcomes — not just leads, but jobs that were actually booked and invoiced.

Campaign attribution dashboard

Go to Analytics → Campaigns. You'll see each active Meta campaign alongside the number of leads generated, jobs booked from those leads, and total revenue attributed. This updates daily.

Cost per booked job

Trade2Base calculates cost-per-booked-job by dividing your Meta ad spend (pulled from the API) by the number of jobs that trace back to that campaign. This is the number that matters — not cost-per-click.

UTM parameters

If you drive traffic to a landing page rather than using Lead Forms, add UTM parameters to your ad URLs (utm_source=facebook, utm_campaign=your-campaign-name). Trade2Base reads these from your portal and attributes any resulting enquiry to the correct campaign.

Attribution window

Trade2Base uses a 30-day attribution window by default. A lead is attributed to a Meta campaign if it arrives within 30 days of an ad click or impression. You can adjust this in Settings → Analytics → Attribution window.

Next steps

Once connected, head to the Campaigns dashboard to review your current Meta spend against booked job revenue. If you're running Google Ads as well, connect Google Ads next to get a single view of all your paid marketing performance.
