Using a Saved Quote Template

Templates let you build a quote in seconds by starting from a set of pre-filled line items you've already priced up. Instead of typing the same materials and labour charges from scratch every time, just pick a template, tweak the quantities, and send.

Opening the Quotes section

Click Quotes in the left-hand sidebar. You'll see your existing quotes listed by status — draft, sent, accepted, and declined. This is your central quote hub.

Creating a quote from a template

1
Click "New Quote"

Hit the blue "New Quote" button in the top-right corner of the Quotes screen. A dialog will appear asking how you want to start.

2
Select "From Template"

Choose "From Template" rather than starting from scratch. This opens the template library panel.

3
Browse your template library

Scroll through your saved templates. Each card shows the template name, the number of line items, and the total value. Use the search bar to find one by name if you have many.

4
Select the template

Click on the template you want. Trade2Base pre-fills all the line items — labour, materials, call-out fees — exactly as you saved them.

5
Edit quantities and prices

Review each line item. Change quantities, unit prices, or descriptions to match this specific job. Any edits here only affect this quote — the template itself is unchanged.

6
Add customer details

Search for the customer in the "Bill to" field. If they are a new customer, click "Create new customer" and fill in their name, email, and address.

7
Send the quote

Click "Send Quote" to email the quote directly to the customer. They receive a professional PDF and can accept it online via the customer portal.

Tips for using templates effectively

Spot-check the totals

Always glance at the quote total before sending. If material costs have changed since you built the template, update the unit prices now. The live total updates automatically as you type.

Add a personal note

Use the Notes to customer field at the bottom of the quote to add a job-specific message. A short personal line can improve acceptance rates.

Template not showing?

If you don't see any templates, you may not have saved one yet. Head to the Templates section to create your first one — see the related article below.

What happens after the customer accepts?

When your customer accepts the quote online, Trade2Base changes the status to Accepted and notifies you. You can then convert it to an invoice in one click — all line items carry across automatically, so there's no double-entry.
