The problem we set out to solve
The average sole-trader tradesperson spends 6–8 hours a week on admin: writing quotes in Word, chasing invoices in Excel, managing customer messages across WhatsApp, email, and missed calls, and trying to figure out which marketing spend — if any — is actually generating work.
The software alternatives weren't built for this. Salesforce and HubSpot are sales platforms. QuickBooks and Xero are accounting tools. Jobber and ServiceM8 are strong on scheduling but weak on marketing. None of them were built by people who understood that a plumber's working week looks nothing like an office worker's.
Trade2Base was founded to build the thing that didn't exist: a single platform that handles every operational and marketing task a trade business needs, designed mobile-first, priced in GBP, and built on what UK tradespeople actually told us they needed — not what sounded good in a VC pitch deck.
