Send Direct Mail Campaigns with Mailhaus

Mailhaus is Trade2Base's built-in direct mail integration that lets you send professional postcards and letters to your customers and local prospects — without leaving the platform. Direct mail cuts through digital noise and is particularly effective for trade businesses targeting homeowners in specific postcodes.

What is Mailhaus?

Mailhaus is a postcard and letter fulfilment service integrated directly into Trade2Base's Campaigns module. You design your mailer inside Trade2Base, upload or select your recipient list, and Mailhaus handles printing, addressing, and Royal Mail delivery. Typical delivery time is 3–5 working days in the UK.

Postcards

A5 and A6 full-colour postcards, printed on 350gsm stock. Ideal for seasonal offers, new service announcements, and area leaflet drops.

Letters

A4 letters in a plain white envelope. Better for existing customer communications, renewal reminders, and formal quotes sent by post.

Postcode targeting

Send to every address in one or more postcodes, even if they are not in your Trade2Base customer list. Useful for prospecting new areas.

Uploading and selecting recipient lists

You can use your existing Trade2Base customers, upload a new CSV list, or target by postcode.

1
Use Trade2Base customers

In the Mailhaus campaign setup, choose Select from customers. Filter by tag, job type, or date of last job to target a specific segment — for example, all boiler service customers from 12 months ago.

2
Upload a CSV

If you have an external mailing list, click Upload CSV. Your file must include at least a name and full UK postal address. Trade2Base maps your columns and validates addresses before sending.

3
Target by postcode

Click Target postcodes and enter one or more postcode prefixes (e.g. LS1, LS2, LS3). Trade2Base estimates the number of addresses in the area so you can see the expected send volume and cost before committing.

Designing your postcard or letter

Trade2Base includes a drag-and-drop postcard designer. You don't need design experience — just choose a template, customise it, and preview exactly how it will look when printed.

Choose a template

Select from trade-specific postcard templates — plumbing, electrical, heating, roofing, and more. Each template is pre-sized and bleed-ready for print.

Add your branding

Upload your logo, change colours to match your brand, and edit the headline and body copy. Personalisation tags like “Dear [First Name]” auto-populate from your recipient list.

Preview and approve

Click Preview to see a full-resolution PDF proof. Check all text, images, and the address panel before clicking Approve & Order.

Tracking responses with campaign codes

To measure how many jobs came from your mailer, add a campaign code to your postcard. When a customer books a job and mentions the code, Trade2Base links that job to the campaign automatically.

1
Generate a code

In the campaign setup screen, Trade2Base generates a unique 6-character code for each campaign — for example ROOF26. This code is added to your postcard design automatically.

2
Print on the mailer

The code appears on the front or back of the postcard next to a prompt such as "Quote this code for 10% off". This gives customers a reason to mention it.

3
Log it on a job

When creating a job from a call or quote request, enter the campaign code in the Campaign Code field. Trade2Base attributes that job revenue to the Mailhaus campaign.

Measuring direct mail ROI in Trade2Base

Once your campaign is sent and jobs start coming in, Trade2Base's campaign analytics gives you a clear picture of return on investment.

Campaign dashboard

Go to Campaigns → Mailhaus → [Your campaign] to see send count, estimated delivery date, and attributed jobs. Revenue and job count update in real time as codes are logged.

Cost per job

Trade2Base automatically calculates your cost per acquired job by dividing the total print and postage spend by the number of attributed jobs. This sits alongside your digital campaign costs for direct comparison.

Allow 2–3 weeks

Direct mail response typically comes in over 2–3 weeks after delivery. Don't judge a campaign's ROI until at least 21 days after the estimated delivery date.
