Setting up a recurring job schedule
Recurring jobs automate repeat bookings for boiler services, maintenance contracts, regular cleaning, or any scheduled work. Trade2Base creates the next job automatically when the current one is completed — so you never have to manually re-book routine visits.
How to set up a recurring job
Navigate to Jobs and open the job you want to make recurring, or click New Job to create one from scratch.
In the job detail view, find the job settings panel on the right-hand side and click "Make recurring". A recurrence configuration panel will appear.
Choose from weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually — or set a custom interval such as every 6 weeks or every 90 days.
Choose a date when the recurring series should stop, or leave it open-ended if the work continues indefinitely — for example, an ongoing maintenance contract.
Toggle on auto-assign if you want each new job in the series to be automatically assigned to the same engineer as the previous one. Leave it off if you prefer to assign manually each time.
Click "Save". From this point, every time a job in the series is marked as completed, Trade2Base automatically creates the next job at the scheduled interval and adds it to the calendar.
Recurring jobs appear in your calendar like regular jobs. You can edit or cancel any individual occurrence without affecting the rest of the series — useful for rescheduling a single visit due to customer cancellation or engineer leave.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Open any job in the recurring series, click the recurrence settings, and choose "Edit series". Changes apply to all future occurrences from that point. Past completed jobs are not affected.
Notifications depend on your automation settings. If you have a job confirmation automation enabled, the customer will receive a notification when each new job is created. Go to Settings > Automations to configure this.
Yes. Open the job series settings and click "Pause series". No new jobs will be created while the series is paused. Click "Resume" to restart it from the next scheduled date.
Invoice creation follows your standard job completion settings. If you have auto-invoice on completion enabled in Settings > Jobs, a draft invoice will be created when each recurring job is marked complete.
