Review request automation — recommended setup

More Google reviews means more leads from local search. This automation asks every happy customer for a review — automatically, at exactly the right moment.

Why this automation matters

Google reviews are the single biggest driver of local search ranking for trade businesses. A plumber with 80 reviews will consistently outrank a plumber with 10, even if the latter has a better website. The problem is that most satisfied customers simply forget to leave a review unless prompted.

Sending a review request manually after every job is time-consuming and easy to forget. With this automation, Trade2Base does it for you — 24 hours after the job closes, every time, without fail.

Recommended setup

Go to Automations and click New Automation

Navigate to Automations in the sidebar, then click "New Automation".

Set the trigger: "Job status changes to Complete"

This fires whenever you mark a job as Complete — the moment the work is done and the customer is satisfied.

Leave conditions blank (or filter by job type)

To request reviews after every job, leave conditions empty. If you only want to request reviews for certain job types (e.g. "Boiler Service"), add a condition: Job type equals [your job type].

Set the action: WhatsApp message

WhatsApp has the highest open rate of any channel. Choose WhatsApp as your action, then paste in your review message template (see below).

Set the delay to 24 hours

Waiting 24 hours gives the customer time to settle before you ask. Requests sent immediately after a job can feel rushed. 24 hours is the sweet spot.

Enable and save

Toggle the automation to Enabled and click Save. From this point on, every completed job will generate an automatic review request.

Recommended message template

Copy and paste this template into the automation message field. It's friendly, personal, and makes the ask feel natural rather than automated.

Where to find your review link

Log in to your Google Business Profile, go to Home → Get more reviews, and copy the short link. Paste this as the value for {{review_link}} or add it to your Business Profile in Trade2Base so it populates automatically.

Where reviews appear in Trade2Base

When a customer leaves a Google review, Trade2Base pulls it into the Reviews tab (visible in the sidebar). You can see the rating, the text, and which customer left it — making it easy to follow up or respond publicly via Google Business Profile.

Checking your results

After the automation has been running for a few weeks, you can measure its impact.

Automation Activity Log

Go to Automations → Activity Log to see every review request sent, with delivery confirmation.

Track your review count

Check your Google Business Profile every month and note your total review count. Most businesses see a 3–5x increase in monthly reviews within 60 days of enabling this automation.
