Cancel Your Trade2Base Subscription

We're sorry to see you go. This article explains how to cancel your subscription, what happens to your data, how to export everything before you leave, and how to reactivate your account if you change your mind.

How to cancel your subscription

1
Go to Settings

Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar, or navigate to Settings from your account menu in the top-right corner.

2
Open the Billing section

Select Billing from the Settings menu. You'll see your current plan, next billing date, and payment method.

3
Click "Cancel subscription"

Scroll to the bottom of the Billing page and click the Cancel subscription link. You'll be asked to confirm that you want to cancel and shown the date your access will end.

4
Confirm cancellation

Read the confirmation screen carefully. It shows when your paid access ends (the end of your current billing period) and what will happen to your data. Click Confirm cancellation to proceed.

Only the account Owner can cancel

Admins and engineers cannot cancel the subscription. If you're an Admin and need to cancel, ask the account Owner to do so or contact support.

What happens after cancellation

Your Trade2Base account moves to read-only mode at the end of your current billing period. This means:

You and your team can still log in and view all existing data
You cannot create new jobs, quotes, invoices, or customers
You cannot send messages or trigger automations
Engineers cannot update job statuses or add photos
The customer portal remains accessible for existing customers to view their records

Your data is retained in read-only mode for 90 days after cancellation. After 90 days, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted. You will receive email reminders at 60 days and 14 days before deletion.

No refunds for partial months

Trade2Base subscriptions are billed in advance. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We do not issue partial refunds for unused days.

Exporting your data before cancelling

We strongly recommend exporting your data before you cancel so you have a permanent copy. Go to Settings → Data → Export to download your data. The following exports are available:

CustomersAll customer records including contact details, addresses, and tags as a CSV
JobsFull job history including dates, engineers, statuses, and notes as a CSV
InvoicesAll invoices with line items, totals, and payment status as a CSV
QuotesAll quotes with line items and acceptance status as a CSV
Invoice PDFsA ZIP file containing all invoice PDFs — useful for accounting and tax records

Large exports may take a few minutes to generate. You'll receive an email with a download link when your export is ready. Download links expire after 48 hours.

Reactivating after cancellation

Changed your mind? You can reactivate your Trade2Base account at any time during the 90-day data retention window. Log in with your existing credentials, go to Settings → Billing, and click Reactivate subscription. Choose a plan and enter your payment details. Your account will be restored immediately with all your data intact — customers, jobs, invoices, and settings exactly as you left them.

If the 90-day window has passed and your data has been deleted, we cannot restore it. You would need to start a new account from scratch. This is why we strongly recommend exporting your data before cancelling or as soon as possible after cancellation.

Pausing instead of cancelling

If you're going through a quiet period or a seasonal lull, contact support — we may be able to offer a reduced-rate pause option rather than full cancellation.

Contacting support if you need help

If you're having trouble with the cancellation process, or if you cancelled by mistake, our support team can help. Email support@trade2base.com or use the live chat in the bottom-right corner of any Trade2Base page. We aim to respond within one business hour during working hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm GMT).

If you're cancelling because of a specific problem with the software, please let us know. We'd genuinely love the chance to fix it before you leave. Our product team reads every piece of cancellation feedback and many of our most-requested features have come from customers who shared their frustrations before leaving.
