Connecting Google Business Profile
Linking your Google Business Profile to Trade2Base takes about two minutes and unlocks automatic review imports, your live star rating on the dashboard, and AI-assisted reply drafting. This guide walks through every step of the OAuth connection process.
Before you start
Make sure you have owner or manager access to the Google Business Profile you want to connect. If you are not the owner, ask the account owner to add you as a manager at business.google.com before proceeding.
Each Trade2Base workspace can connect one Google Business Profile at a time. If you manage multiple listings under one Google account, you will be asked to choose which listing to link during the OAuth flow.
Connecting your profile
Click the Settings cog in the bottom-left sidebar, then select the Integrations tab. You will see a list of available integrations including Google Business Profile, Checkatrade, Stripe, and Xero.
The Connect button opens a new browser popup that starts the Google OAuth flow. Make sure your browser allows popups from Trade2Base, or disable any popup blocker temporarily.
Sign in with the Google account that has owner or manager access to your Business Profile. If you are already signed in, Google may skip this step.
Trade2Base requests two permissions: read your business information and manage your reviews. Both are required. Granting review management lets Trade2Base import reviews and mark them as replied once you post a response.
If your Google account manages multiple Business Profile listings, a picker appears. Select the listing for your trade business and click Confirm.
The Integrations page shows a green "Connected" badge next to Google Business Profile. Trade2Base begins importing your existing reviews in the background — this can take a few minutes if you have many reviews.
What happens once connected
After connecting, Trade2Base does the following automatically:
- Imports all existing reviews from your Google Business Profile into Reviews › Received, with star rating, reviewer name, date, and full text.
- Syncs new reviews every hour so your inbox stays up to date without manual refreshing.
- Displays your live star rating in the Trade2Base dashboard header so you can see it at a glance every time you log in.
- Enables AI Suggest Reply on every imported review.
Disconnecting Google Business Profile
To disconnect, go back to Settings › Integrations and click the Disconnect link next to Google Business Profile. This revokes Trade2Base's access to your Google account. Existing imported reviews remain in Trade2Base but no new ones will be synced.
If you disconnect and reconnect, Trade2Base will re-import all reviews from Google. Any reviews already in Trade2Base will not be duplicated — the system deduplicates by review ID.
Troubleshooting connection issues
If the OAuth popup closes without connecting, check that your browser is not blocking popups from Trade2Base. If you see a “permissions denied” error from Google, make sure the account you signed in with has at least manager-level access to the Business Profile. Still stuck?
