Embed a Quote Request Form on Your Website

The Trade2Base embed form turns your website into a lead-generation machine. Visitors fill in their job details, hit submit, and the request appears instantly in your Trade2Base inbox as a new job request — no manual data entry, no missed enquiries.

Generating the embed code

The embed code is a small snippet of HTML and JavaScript that you paste into your website. Trade2Base generates it for you in seconds.

1
Go to Settings → Embed Form

In Trade2Base, click the gear icon to open Settings, then select Embed Form from the left sidebar.

2
Configure your form

Choose which fields to include, set your brand colour for the form button, and write a custom thank-you message that appears after a customer submits.

3
Copy the embed code

Click Generate Code. Trade2Base produces a two-line snippet — a script tag and a div placeholder. Copy both and paste them into your website where you want the form to appear.

Secure by default

The embed code uses your unique Trade2Base account token. Submissions are sent over HTTPS and only you can see them inside Trade2Base.

Customising form fields

You can choose exactly which fields appear on the form. Toggle each one on or off in the Embed Form settings. All fields that are toggled on are required by default, though you can mark individual fields as optional.

Job type

A dropdown of your service categories (e.g. Boiler service, New installation, Emergency repair). You define the options in Settings → Job Types.

Job description

A free-text area where the customer describes their job. This maps directly to the Job Notes field on the new job request in Trade2Base.

Postcode

Captures the customer's postcode so you can quickly check whether they are within your service area before calling back.

Preferred time

A set of checkboxes: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Weekend. Helps you schedule a site visit or call-back at a convenient time.

Photos

An optional file upload field that lets customers attach photos of the job. Images are stored against the job request in Trade2Base.

Adding the form to WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace

1
WordPress

In the WordPress editor, add a Custom HTML block (in Gutenberg) or a Text widget (in classic themes) where you want the form. Paste the full embed snippet and update the page. The form renders automatically on the front end.

2
Wix

In the Wix editor, click Add → Embed → Custom Code → Embed HTML. Paste the snippet in the HTML box, resize the element to fit, and publish. Wix renders iframes, so the form appears in a scrollable container.

3
Squarespace

Go to the page you want to add the form to. Add a Code Block from the block menu. Paste the embed snippet, click Apply, and save the page. Squarespace supports raw HTML blocks on Business plans and above.

Other website platforms

Any website that allows you to paste raw HTML will work with the Trade2Base embed. This includes Webflow, Shopify pages, Weebly, GoDaddy Website Builder, and hand-coded HTML sites.

How submissions appear in Trade2Base

When a customer submits the form, Trade2Base immediately creates a new job request. You are notified in real time by push notification (mobile app) and email.

Job Requests inbox

Go to Jobs → Requests to see all incoming embed form submissions. Each request shows the customer name, job type, postcode, description, and preferred time at a glance.

Convert to a job

Open the request and click Convert to Job. Trade2Base creates a full job record pre-populated with all the customer's details, ready for you to assign, schedule, and quote.

New vs returning customers

Trade2Base checks the email address against existing customers. If it matches an existing record, the job request is linked to that customer automatically. New email addresses create a new customer profile.

Attributing embed form leads in your reports

Job requests from the embed form are automatically tagged with the source “Website Form” in Trade2Base. This means you can filter your revenue and conversion reports by source to see exactly how much business your website is generating.

Go to Reports → Conversion Report and filter by Source → Website Form to see the number of requests, conversion rate to paid jobs, and total revenue attributed to your embed form.
