Viewing Jobs on the Map

Map view plots all your jobs as pins on an interactive map so you can see exactly where your work is located, plan engineer routes efficiently, and spot geographic opportunities for your business.

Map view is most useful for planning multi-job days and identifying geographic clusters to target with local marketing.

How to use the Map view

1
Go to Jobs → click the "Map" view toggle

In the main navigation, open Jobs. In the top right you will see view toggles: List, Pipeline, Calendar, and Map. Click "Map" to switch to the map layout.

2
Jobs appear as pins on a map, colour-coded by status

Each job is shown as a map pin. Blue pins are new jobs, orange pins are in progress, and green pins are completed. This makes it easy to see at a glance which jobs need attention and which are done.

3
Click any pin to see the job summary and open the full record

Click or tap a pin to open a small summary card showing the job title, customer name, scheduled date and assigned engineer. Click "Open job" in the summary card to go to the full job record.

4
Use the date filter to focus on a specific time range

Use the date filter at the top of the map to show jobs for today, this week, or a custom date range. This keeps the map clear and focused on the period you care about.

5
Zoom in by postcode area to see job density

Zoom into any area of the map to see job pins spread out by exact address. This is particularly useful for identifying postcode areas with high job density, which helps you plan efficient engineer routes and target local marketing campaigns.

Frequently asked questions

What if a job does not appear on the map?

Jobs only appear on the map if they have a valid address. If a pin is missing, open the job record and check that the address field is filled in correctly. Trade2Base geocodes the address automatically when the job is saved.

Can I filter the map by engineer?

Yes. Use the engineer filter in the filter bar above the map to show only jobs assigned to a specific engineer. This is useful for planning routes for individual team members.

Can I see live engineer locations on the map?

If you have enabled GPS tracking, engineer locations are shown as separate markers on the map in real time. See the Engineer GPS article for setup instructions.

Can I export the map view?

You can take a screenshot of the map at any time. A dedicated map export feature is planned for a future release. In the meantime, the job address list can be exported as a CSV from Jobs → Export.
