Uploading photos to a job
Job photos provide a visual record of work done, protect you against disputes, and can be shared with customers through the portal. Engineers can upload photos from the mobile app on site — no need to wait until they are back in the office.
How to upload photos to a job
Navigate to Jobs and open the job you want to add photos to. The photo gallery is available on both the mobile app and the desktop web app.
Inside the job detail view, select the Photos tab. You will see any existing photos and an upload button.
On mobile, tap the upload button to choose photos from your camera roll or take a new photo directly with your device camera. On desktop, click to select files from your computer.
After uploading, tap or click on any photo to add a caption. Use descriptive captions to make the gallery clear — for example "Before — existing boiler" or "After — new Worcester Bosch installation".
Each photo has a "Visible to customer" toggle. Turn it on for photos you want the customer to see in their portal. Photos with the toggle off remain internal and are never shown to the customer.
Photos are stored securely and are not visible to the customer unless you choose to share them. Engineers can upload photos from the field; only account owners and admins can delete photos from a job.
Frequently asked questions
There is no hard limit on photos per job. However, individual file uploads are capped at 20 MB per photo. We recommend compressing very large RAW or DSLR images before uploading.
Yes. On the Photos tab, click "Download all" to export all photos for that job as a ZIP file. This is useful for sending a complete photo record to a client or insurer.
Customers cannot upload photos directly. If you need a customer to share photos — for example, pictures of a fault before you visit — ask them to send them via message and attach the photos to the job manually.
Yes, if you choose to include them. When generating a job report PDF, you will be asked whether to include the customer-visible photos. Internal-only photos are never included in any PDF.
