Adding Engineers and Staff
Once your team grows beyond just yourself, Trade2Base's multi-user support keeps everyone on the same page. Invite engineers, set what they can see and do, and start assigning jobs directly from the schedule.
Opening the Team section
Click Team in the left-hand sidebar. You'll see all current team members listed with their name, role, and status (active or invited). The account owner is always listed at the top.
Inviting an engineer
Hit the blue "Invite Engineer" button. A dialog appears asking for the engineer's details.
Type the engineer's work email address. This is where the invitation will be sent. Double-check the address — if it's wrong, the invitation won't reach them.
Choose a role from the dropdown. "Engineer" gives access to their assigned jobs, schedule, and the ability to add photos and notes. "Admin" has full access including invoices, quotes, and team management — use this for office staff or a business partner.
Trade2Base emails an invitation to the address you entered. The engineer appears in the Team list with status "Invited" until they accept.
The engineer clicks the link in the invitation email and sets up their password. Their status changes to "Active" and they can now log in.
What engineers can see
Engineers with the Engineer role see only the jobs assigned to them. They can view job details, add photos, log notes, and update the job status. They cannot see other engineers' jobs, customer financials, invoices, or account settings.
Owner — full access, billing, can delete the account.
Admin — full access to jobs, quotes, invoices, team. Cannot manage billing or delete the account.
Engineer — assigned jobs only. No financial data.
Removing a team member
To remove someone from your team, click the three-dot menu next to their name in the Team section and select Remove from team. They will immediately lose access to Trade2Base. Jobs they were assigned to remain in the system — you will need to reassign those jobs to another engineer.
If an engineer hasn't accepted after a few days, click the three-dot menu and select Resend invitation. Ask them to check their spam folder if they still can't find the email.
Sign up and invite your first engineer today. No per-seat fee on the Starter plan.
