Exporting your customer data

Trade2Base lets you export your full customer database as a CSV file at any time. Useful for mail merges, external reporting, CRM migrations, or keeping an offline backup.

How to export your customer data

1
Go to Customers in the main menu

Open the main navigation and click Customers. This opens your full customer list.

2
Apply any filters

Filter by tag, area, last activity, or any other criteria. The export reflects your current filter — so if you filter to customers tagged "VIP", only those customers will be exported.

3
Click Export in the top right corner

Click the Export button in the top right of the Customers screen. A dialogue will appear with export options.

4
Choose columns to export

Choose to export All columns or select specific fields: name, email, phone, address, tags, and job count. Selecting only the fields you need keeps the file clean and easy to work with.

5
Download the CSV

Click Download. The CSV file will save to your device and opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.

Exports include all customers visible under your current filter. To export your full database, clear all filters before exporting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export job history too?

The customer export includes job count per customer. For a full job history export, go to Jobs in the main menu and use the Export button there — you can export all jobs with their associated customer, date, value, and status.

Is there a row limit on exports?

No. Trade2Base exports your entire customer list regardless of size. Very large exports (10,000+ customers) may take a few seconds to generate.

Can I import customers from a CSV?

Yes. Go to Customers > Import and upload a CSV file. Trade2Base will map the columns from your file to the correct customer fields. See the Import Customers help article for full instructions.

How often can I export?

There is no limit on how often you can export. You can export as frequently as you like — for example, once a week for an ongoing backup.
