Setting team member permissions
Trade2Base has three permission levels: Owner, Admin and Engineer. Each level controls what team members can see and do. You can customise permissions within each role to match your business needs.
How to set permissions
Open the Team section from the main navigation and click on the team member whose permissions you want to change.
On the team member's profile page, select the Permissions tab to view and edit their current access level.
Select from Owner (full access to everything), Admin (manage jobs, quotes and customers), or Engineer (view and update their own jobs only).
Fine-tune access beyond the base role. For example, allow an Engineer to see customer contact details or create quotes, without granting them full Admin access.
Choose whether this person can see pricing, revenue reports and invoice amounts. This is controlled separately from the base role so you can keep financial data private from engineers.
Click Save permissions. Changes take effect on their next login.
Only Owners can change permissions. There must always be at least one Owner on the account. Owners cannot be demoted to Engineer or Admin without first promoting another user to Owner.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. In the Engineer role settings, disable the 'View all jobs' permission. Engineers will then only see jobs assigned to them.
By default, Admins can delete customers and jobs. If you want to restrict this, open the Admin role and disable the 'Delete records' permission. Only Owners will then be able to delete records.
Yes. Set the user as an Engineer, disable all action permissions, and enable only the financial reporting permissions they need. This gives them view-only access to revenue reports and invoices without the ability to make changes.
No. Permissions only affect what a user can do going forward. Historical records, audit logs and completed actions are not altered when permissions change.
